While I am recovering from being sick as a dog, I thought I’d share some background on characters.

Bertie and Hugh (the raccoons) were originally one-joke characters for this strip. However I got such a good response, and they were so fun to write for, that I decided to keep them. Hugh didn’t get his name until this strip. Extremely astute/nerdy readers will have noticed that the names “Bertie and Hugh” are an homage to two of my favorite Warner Brothers cartoon characters, “Hubie and Bert“.
