Check it out - Urban Jungle made The Top 10 of iPad Top Lists on Tom’s Hardware! Urban Jungle is among some pretty prestigious sites on this list, so I couldn’t be happier.
You can see the original comic here.
Several people have asked me recently what they can do to support Urban Jungle. One of the best ways is to spread the word using the little green “Share” button (
) found under each strip. This allows you to share a comic you like using a service like Reddit or StumbleUpon.
Thanks for your support, everyone!

While I am recovering from being sick as a dog, I thought I’d share some background on characters.
Bertie and Hugh (the raccoons) were originally one-joke characters for this strip. However I got such a good response, and they were so fun to write for, that I decided to keep them. Hugh didn’t get his name until this strip. Extremely astute/nerdy readers will have noticed that the names “Bertie and Hugh” are an homage to two of my favorite Warner Brothers cartoon characters, “Hubie and Bert“.
I had originally conceived this strip as two separate comics, but I thought it would be good to wrap up the storyline this week. Always fun to throw a little drama in the mix.
Be sure to check out my runner-up entry for the Calamities of Nature guest strip contest here! Competition was fierce–be sure to check out the other great entries while you’re there.
Okay, so I’ve done another comic strip with a Hellboy crossover reference. I just can’t pass up a chance to draw the big red guy. For those who missed the previous appearance, you can find it here.
Are you involved in webcomics? Be sure to vote in the Webcomic List Awards. Voting for Urban Jungle not required but highly encouraged.

Believe it or not, today’s strip is based on a real product. Evidently it’s been around for a few years, but yesterday was the first time I saw it in the store. At the risk of ruining the movie for anyone who hasn’t seen it, the dog “Old Yeller” goes rabid and the boy who owns him has to put him down with a shotgun at the end of the movie. Good times! Let’s name our dog food after this character!
I finally bit the bullet and got myself on Twitter. Follow me at www.twitter.com/davidwilborn! I’ll be adding a feed to the website in the not too distant future.
