My sister and I worked in a department store years ago (before they started putting the undies in resealable bags), and we’d see this all the time: Customers would rip the bags open – presumably to see if they fit?!? – and then would cram the bloomers back into the bag when they were done and leave them on the shelf, which made them extremely undesirable to other customers. Now with resealable bags, the employees can return the products to their from-the-factory look even after they’ve been vandalized (or violated?) by the customers.
Moral of the story: Wash your new undies before wearing…
